Consider One Of These Winter Photo Backdrops That Doesn't Relate To Christmas

Lots of children get their photos taken with Santa Claus in front of a Christmas-themed backdrop each November or December, often with the parents planning to distribute these images with their Christmas cards. If your family doesn't celebrate Christmas, you don't want your children to feel left out by not having their photos taken. Instead of heading to the mall to meet Santa, you can instead book a photo session at a local photo studio, where you can peruse a number of appropriate backgrounds to find one befitting of the season. Here are some kid photo backdrops for winter that you can use.

Ice Skating Pond

If you live in an area that gets cold enough to allow for outdoor ice skating, a photo backdrop depicting a frozen pond can be suitable for your children's photo. The backdrop might be a scene in a residential neighborhood, with houses surrounding a pond and the images of children skating on it. You can set your children up for their photo with appropriate props if desired. For example, having one child hold a hockey stick, and another pose with his or her skates hanging over his or her shoulder can tie into the background.

Snow Forts

Your local photography studio might also have a photo backdrop depicting children playing in a snowy field, perhaps building a snowman together or assembling a snow fort while they have fun throwing snowballs with their friends. The latter scenario can be fun, especially if you have children who frequently build snow forts in your own backyard. You can get creative with how your children prepare for the photo, including dressing them in their snowsuits. The photo studio may also have props that relate to this photo backdrop, including fake snowballs for the children to hold and perhaps even pretend to throw in the direction of the camera.

Forest Scene

Few scenes evoke feelings of winter as quickly as scenes depicting the forest. One photo backdrop could show a snowy trail weaving between snow-covered evergreen trees, while another could depict a cozy scene of a log cottage in the distance with smoke wafting out of its chimney. Any forest-based scene of this nature can be perfect for a winter photo shoot for your children. While you can get creative with props, you can also keep things simple by dressing your kids in appropriate winter wear — for example, knit sweaters or wool mittens.
